Microneedling in Lake Mary & Orlando, FL
Microneedling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a minimally invasive procedure performed with a micro-needling pen, creating a series of controlled epidermal and dermal micro-injuries. These micro-injuries activate your body's own collagen and elastin production.
Microneedling results in tightening, lifting and rejuvenating of the skin as well as reducing and/or improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, stretch marks, hyper and hypo pigmentation and scarring, such as surgical and acne scars.
About Microneedling in Orlando, FL
Microneedling can be used on all parts of the body, including the face, neck, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back. Topical lidocaine to numb the skin ensures a comfortable and pain-free treatment. Serums are then applied and the pen gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.
Radiofrequency is paired with our Lake Mary microneedling treatments for better results of scar reduction and rejuvenating of the skin. Energy penetrates to the deeper dermis layer to trigger collagen production and skin remodeling.
Scar And Stretch Mark Camouflage
Sculpted Effect also offers stretch mark and scar camouflage. Scars and stretch marks can significantly be reduced with microneedling and radiofrequency treatments. If after these treatments a touch of color is needed to reduce the contrast between the stretch mark/scar and your skin tone, we can help minimize them even more with custom blended pigments to match your skin tone.

What Areas Can Be Treated With Microneedling?
Treatment areas with microneedling include the face, neck, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.
How Is Microneedling done?
Topical lidocaine is used to numb the treatment area and ensure a comfortable and pain-free treatment. After approximately 30 minutes of numbing, serums are applied and then microneedled into the skin.
How Long Does a Microneedling Procedure Take?
The treatment time depends on the size of the area being treated. Face microneedling typically takes about 1 hour to an hour and a half.
What Is The Downtime To Microneedling?
Immediately after microneedling treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin, similar to a sunburn which subsides in 1-2 days. The total healing time depends on the client's skin type.
Things To Avoid Before Microneedling
- Avoid Accutane six months prior to beginning your treatments.
- Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or acids 5-7 days prior to your treatment.
- Do not take anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for at least 3 days prior to your microneedling treatment.
- Avoid IPL/Laser procedures, unprotected sun exposure, or sunburn for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
- No waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis to the area being treated for 5-7 days prior.
- Do not shave the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation.
- If you’re prone to cold sores, take an antiviral agent for 2 days prior to and the day of the treatment.
What Is Aftercare For Microneedling?
- Avoid activities that cause sweating as well as avoiding the sun, jacuzzis, saunas, and steam baths for up to 48 hours.
- Do not wear makeup for 24 hours.
- Apply sunscreen daily, and use gentle cleansing and moisturizing for 3 days after treatment. Avoid scrubbing, rubbing, or using exfoliants for 1 week.
When Will I See Results From Microneedling?
Patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results can continue to improve up to 6 months after a treatment as collagen production continues.
How Many Microneedling Treatments Will I Need?
Some patients only require a single treatment once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 3-4 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart.
What Treatments Are Available To Treat Stretch Marks Or Scars?
Scars and stretch marks can significantly be reduced with microneedling and radiofrequency treatments. However, after the stretch mark or scar reduction treatments to further reduce their appearance, a camouflaging technique can be used. This technique is called scar camouflage or stretch mark camouflage.
This technique includes lightly tattooing custom blended pigments that match your skin tone, into each individual stretch mark or scar.
Whether microneedling with radiofrequency is the best option or both treatments are required will depend on the type of stretch mark or scar and the skin tone. Scars from surgery or trauma are treated in the same way.
Stretch marks and surgical or traumatic scars must be at least a year old in order to be treated.
